Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is aimed to ensure the organizational objectives are met by having the right workforce in place.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee overall Human Resources plan and requirements and implement policies that support them
• Appoint, develop and retain the right staff, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel
• Administer and advise management on interpretation of human resources policies and programs
• Carry out strategy and planning activities and develop strategies to meet immediate and long-term requirements
• Manage the application process – check application forms, shortlist, interview, select successful candidates and inform unsuccessful ones
• Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
• Advise line managers in how to implement policies and procedures
• Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
• Analyze training needs in conjunction with departmental managers to design employee development, language training and health and safety programs, including new staff inductions
• Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
• Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems
• Negotiate with staff on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts and redundancy
• Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization
• Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
• Regular maintenance and professional development of HR knowledge
Knowledge and Skills
• Business awareness and management skills
• High proficiency of Microsoft Office
• Maintain integrity, discretion and judgement when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
• The ability to compile and interpret statistical data and communicate it in a professional and understandable manner
• The ability to analyse, interpret and explain employment law
• Communication skills to foster good relations between employees
• Curiosity and willingness to challenge organizational culture where necessary
• Cultural awareness and language skills
Qualifications
• Degree in Human Resources or related fields
• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or related fields
The Human Resources Manager is a permanent full-time position and is paid $57.69/hour (35 hours/week).
