Job Duties:
• Measure and mark the surface where tiles, marbles, and granite are to be placed.
• Prepare the marked surface for tiling by cleaning, waterproofing, and putting material for leveling.
• Set up tile beds making appropriate formations and combinations of pattern tiles.
• Suggest different patterns and tile sizes to the customer.
• Use tile spacer as per the requirement of the customer.
• Cut tiles, marble, and granite and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools.
• Prepare and spread mortar, cement, and other adhesive on the surface using a hand trowel.
• Place and tap tiles into place and apply the required pressure to ensure proper fixation to base.
• Ensure alignment of tiles using levelers
• Fill up joints between tiles using grout and remove excess grout.
• Polish marble, granite and tiles
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Prepare and suggest cost and material estimates.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is preferred but not mandatory.
• 6+ months experience as a tile setter is preferred but not mandatory.
