Duties:
? Reproduce the fabric structure as the original cloth
? Examine fabric for inspection and grading for restoration
? Reconstruct the warp and weft to match the original weave
? Mark, cut and sew fabric
? Prevent deformation of the fabric that would reveal mending
? Make customized garments according to customers' and clothing manufacturers' specifications and fit
? Design, select and/or modify commercial patterns to customers' and clothing manufacturers' specifications
? Fit, alter and repair garments according to customers' requests
Requirements:
? Previous experience with and demonstrated ability to use invisible mending techniques
? Experience with tools and equipment for rebuilding damaged garments
? Experience with clothing, curtains, furniture fabrics, cushions including suit fabrics, wool and cashmere
? Understanding of different cloth structure including woven, knitting, crochet, felted, etc.
? Understanding of color theory and how materials age
? Be efficient and on task during working hours
? Maintain a positive and supportive work environment
? Ability to distinguish between colors and attention to detail
