Description

This is a full-time temporary term (1 year) position working within the Finance Department and reporting to the Finance Department Supervisor. The Accounting Clerk I position contributes toward city operations providing services in confidential accounting, financial, administration, reception, and support services.

Qualifications:
    Knowledge and experience working with financial management and accounting information systems.
    Excellent Microsoft Office Skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, OneDrive, Teams, & PowerPoint.
    Knowledge of and experience with the following enterprise software programs, Laserfiche, Cascade, Perfect Mind, Process Pro, iCity Vadim, Esri, Helcim, and Catilis Solutions.
    High attention to detail and ability to accurately prepare and process accounting transactions and administrative tasks on a timely basis.
    Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other department representatives, and deal courteously with vendors and the public.
    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple and changing tasks and priorities, with interruptions.
    Ability to understand and complete complex oral and written instructions.
    Ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information.
    Effective verbal and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have:
    A certificate or diploma related to accounting or business.
    Two years related bookkeeping/accounting experience
    Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
