Philip Business Development & Investment Ltd. is a leading supplier of office solutions throughout Canada and Asia. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and driven individual to fill the role of Investments Research Manager. This position will be responsible for investment research activity and strategies to achieve short and long-term company goals. The position will perform extensive due diligence and investment research, keep informed of developments in global markets and the alternative investment management industry and confer with both internal advisors and outside product providers, managers, and in select cases, company management, to determine the appropriateness of investment decisions across different portfolios and under different market conditions.

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Oversee company finances including developing and planning budget.
• Identify and evaluate potential new investments, conduct initial due diligence, and perform industry research.
• Develop and oversee execution of strategic investments plan that is aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
• Analyze financial information and develop annual investment budget.
• Gather, analyze and present financial information of target companies or investors.
• Develop and analyze strategic initiatives and business development opportunities across all business units.
• Manage the financial planning process, analyze financial and operating data to build financial models.
• Lead the finance team to analyze financial results and compile important statistics and other relevant information.
• Conduct industry analysis and business intelligence research and report to the company management.
• Support senior leadership and business units in implementing business plans.
• Manage the Investment Team of the company.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Type:
• Full-time, Permanent

Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is required, MBA is a plus

Experience and Specific Skills
• 5+ years of experience at a top-tier accounting firm, consulting firm or investment bank, with preference given to those with an accounting degree and audit experience
• Advanced computer skills, including extensive financial modeling
• Superior analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to senior management
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and proven ability to work independently
• Ability to form strong professional working relationships
• Demonstrated flexibility in job responsibilities

Salary:
• $50-60 per hour for 35 hours per week
