Job Description
•Supervise and co-ordinate activities of the kitchen staff and food service helpers
•Estimate and order ingredients and supplies
•Ensure food service and quality control
•Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
•Prepare and submit reports daily
•Prepare food order summaries for restaurant general manager
•Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
•Establish methods to meet work schedules
•Establish work schedules
•Supervise and check assembly of trays
•Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
•Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
•Address customer’s complaints or concerns and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
•Prepare budget and cost estimates, maintaining average food costs as well as labour costs.
•Control inventory
•Recruit, interview and hire kitchen and food service staff, motivate and provide performance levels daily
•Communicating with kitchen staff effectively in order to ensure we continue providing customer service up to standards.
•Monitor kitchen equipment ensuring it is kept in good repair and functioning

- Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in food preparation or service is required. If the candidate does not have 2 years of experience, a post-secondary certificate related to hospitality or food and beverage service is required.
- Food safety certification is a great asset
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods and physically demanding
- Personal Suitability: Flexibility, excellent oral communication, client focus, team player, effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise: up to 8 people

Workers supervised: Cook (general), food preparers, kitchen and food service helpers

Salary: $20.50 hourly, 40-44 Hours per week

Important Information:
Flexibility on schedule is required. 8-10 hour shift per day, 5 days per week. Two days off on a rotational basis. Work schedules can be from 9:30AM to 5:30PM / from 3:00PM or 4PM to close. Shifts can vary from day to day. On call, weekend and holiday work is required. Opening hours for takeout, delivery and business: 11am to 12pm from Monday to Sunday.
