Cotter’s Ocean Products, has been specializing in the sale and distribution of live and processed lobster in Lockeport, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia for more than 10 years. We are currently expanding our operations and are hiring for the position of Web Designer.
Position details:
Full-time position
40hrs/week
$41,500 to $50,000/year
Your job duties include:
-Develop Website architecture and determine hardware and software requirements, in accordance with the company's needs and goals for the website;
-Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to present design concepts and gather feedback from the marketing and sales teams;
-Implement effective navigation and user interface elements to facilitate easy website navigation and engagement;
-Conduct regular website maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting as needed;
-Ensure the website is responsive and optimized for various devices and screen sizes;
-Ensure the visibility of the website by optimizing and implementing on-page SEO strategies, such as optimizing page titles, meta descriptions, and header tags, internal linking and SEO-friendly URLS;
-Conduct keyword research to identify relevant keywords and phrases for website optimization;
Requirements and Skills
2-4 years years of experience as a Web Designer;
Minimum College or Bachelor's Education;
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript, or other relevant programming languages;
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.;
Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and web design best practices;
Attention to detail and a good eye for aesthetics;
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines;
Experience with responsive design and mobile optimization;
Proven experience in implementing SEO best practices and improving website visibility in search engine rankings;
Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and keyword research tools;
Assets:
Experience working in e-commerce
Knowledge of Chinese, Korean or Japanese
