Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, computer engineering, electronics/communication engineering or a similar field
- Minimum Experience Requirements:
o At least six years or more of software development experience
o Two or more years of experience in a leadership role within a software development team, including the ability to effectively supervise teams of two or more people and across multiple work locations

- Minimum Skills and Abilities:
o Demonstrate extensive knowledge of software development principles and procedures.
o Demonstrate experience and expertise in:
? Docker and Kubernetes
? Spark and Data lakehouse architecture
? Kafka
? Airflow
? SQL and NoSQL – Postgresqi and Cassandra
? Developing and building data science and machine learning infrastructure
? Developing and productionizing full stack large scale software with multiple backend technology (scala, Java, python, nodes) and rich modern frontend (reactjs)
? Microservices architecture
? Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and OpenTelemtry
o Demonstrate deep understanding of blockchain technology such as Ethereum and blockchain infrastructure such as EVM geth.
o Demonstrate expertise in large scale distributed stores and streaming pipelines (Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hadoop, Parquet) in large scale high throughput environments.
o Demonstrate experience of design, development, query and database optimization of RDBMS and NoSQL (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB or Cassandra)
o Proficient in design, development, security and scalability of high-volume services implemented in Java, Scala, Python, Node/JavaScript, Typescript
o Possess hands on experience with modern UI frameworks like React, including excellent knowledge of client-side security and front-end design patterns (stateless components, conditional rendering, controlled components, hooks)
o Proficient in RESTful APIs, API Gateway, Microservices communications and DevOps methodologies and tools
o Demonstrate knowledge of release management and CICD deployment workflow processes, from development release through production deployment
o Demonstrate knowledge and experience across data management domains such as: data science, data governance, metadata management, data quality, business intelligence, data security and data strategy.
o Demonstrate experience with machine learning models and frameworks like tensorflow and pytorch.
o Demonstrate proven experience leading engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
o Possess experience with architectural design recommendation and guidance.
o Demonstrate experience leading the design, development, delivery and maintenance of large-scale and high-performance platforms.
o Demonstrate experience with object-oriented code, Front End Web, Web Services, leading SaaS-based engineering organizations, and experience with Kubernetes and AWS Services such as EC2, EKS.
o Possess experience in large scale distributed stores and streaming pipelines.
o Demonstrate knowledge of cloud and data security.

Job Duties:
• Manage delivery of the software product.
• Develop and realize company vision through excellence in execution.
• Establish, communicate and implement engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
• Align engineering/software development department's goals with the rest of the company's goals and make sure that the team is allocated and set up well to coordinate with the rest of the company.
• Coordinate and manage operations across the Canadian and affiliated international office.
• Drive technical engineering designs, resource management and implementations.
• Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making.
• Lead, mentor and support a highly effective team of passionate engineers fostering a high-performance culture by running one on one meetings, recruiting new hires, identifying skills gaps and providing growth opportunities team members.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the industry.
