Job Description
· Plan, manage, steer, monitor and analyze a transportation company’s operations
· Set policy and standards for operations, development of safety protocols for the handling of hazardous goods, and strict compliance with regulations of transport
· Supervise the shipment, repair, and operation of vehicles
· Monitor the business or budgets of the company like acquisitions
· Track the output of the organization or department, prepare senior management reports and schedule alterations to policies and timetables
· Hire workers and supervision of their training
· Analyze the operations of the company, synchronize, manage, organize, and check the transportation and movement of goods and items
· Manage paperwork for shipment and supervise the preparation, dispatch, and track of goods in transit
· Set performance targets, monitor the transport service rates and track revenue
· Plan the transportation, stockpiling and storage of goods/items
· Negotiate for utilities and preferential rates with carriers, warehouse owners and insurance company representatives
· Regulate the departmental budget
· Recruit employees and train them
