Cotter’s Ocean Products, has been specializing in the sale and distribution of live and processed lobster in Lockeport, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia for more than 10 years. We are currently expanding our operations to export to Asian markets and are hiring for the position of Bookkeeper.
Position details:
Full-time position
32hrs/week
$33,000.00 to $34,000.00/year
Your job duties include:
-Keep and manage financial records, and maintain and balance books using manual and digital bookkeeping systems.
-Maintain and manage account receivables, payables, petty cash, GST/QST.
-Complete bank reconciliations and month-end duties.
-Calculate and prepare payments for payroll, payments for utilities, taxes, petty cash, etc.
-Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
Requirements and Skills
1-2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or related experience in accounting.
Minimum College or Technical School Education;
Proficiency in MS Office;
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task;
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work;
Knowledge of accounting systems such as Quickbooks or Simply Accounting;
Assets:
Experience working in a company exporting products to Asia or experience working with Asian companies
