Cotter’s Ocean Products, has been specializing in the sale and distribution of live and processed lobster in Lockeport, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia for more than 10 years.

We are currently expanding our operations to export to Asian markets and are hiring for and experienced and well-connected Corporate Sales Manager who can use his or her know-how of the Asian market, especially the Chinese market, will develop our marketing strategies to create a firm foothold in the region.

Position details:
• Full-time position
• 35 hrs/week
• $ 87,400/year

Your job duties include:
• Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate and expand market share in Chinese and broader East Asian markets for our lobster products;
• Identify and engage with potential distributors, partners, and key stakeholders to establish strong business relationships;
• Conduct market research to understand market preferences, trends, and the competitive landscape, providing insights to optimize product offerings and pricing strategies;
• Lead negotiations and manage contracts with clients, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, export and import laws, quality standards, and delivery schedules;
• Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and prepare regular reports to assess market trends, sales projections, and profitability;

Requirements and skills
• 5+ years of experience as Sales Manager, Business Development Officer, or other related Managerial positions in Sales or Sales Market Development;
• Minimum University education;
• Proficiency in MS Office suite;
• Demonstrate deep understanding of the Chinese market and valuable industry contacts preferred;

Assets:
• Prior experience working in companies exporting products to Asia or experience working directly with Asian companies
• Knowledge of Chinese, Korean or Japanese an asset;
• A profound understanding of the East Asian market a valuable asset;
• Experience in exporting to China or East Asia an asset;
• Experience in the seafood industry an asset;
