Job duties
• Assist in splicing, joining and connecting overhead and underground cables.
• Assist in pulling wires through conduits and through holes in walls and floors.
• Installing brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
• Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas.
• Perform other labouring and elemental tasks as required.
Terms of employment
The position is indeterminate, full-time (40 hours per week).
Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible
Wage
$22.82/h

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience
Education:
• Secondary (high) school required
Work Experience:
• On-the-job training is provided.
• Knowledge of electrical system, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repair is an asset.
• Electrical wood frame and steel stud/concrete construction experience (high rise residential/commercial) is an asset.
• Experience pulling wire is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret prints for suite rough wiring steel stud / concrete buildings is an asset.
• Knowledge of electrical code is beneficial.
• Experience with distribution and other industrial equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of electrical system design is an asset.
• Experience in the renewable energy field is an asset.
Language requirements:
Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English is required.
