Basted Baker has been a landmark in Sechelt for almost a decade and has become THE breakfast and brunch destination on the Sunshine Coast. We are known for is freshly baked pastries, delicious brunch food, and crafted coffee drinks.
We are currently recruiting Second Cooks. Duties include:
• Prepare and portion food items and set up workstations with all required ingredients and cooking equipment;
• Cook and present menu items in accordance with company standards;
• Ensure all food ingredients are stored properly and correct sanitization procedures are followed;
• Assist the kitchen team in keeping records of food and equipment, monitoring stock, estimating food requirements and costs, and placing orders when there are shortages;
• Assist with scheduling and overseeing other kitchen workers, and ensure kitchen operations run smoothly;
• Assist with the training of new kitchen staff;
• Keep work stations clean, organised and safe at all times;
• Ensure all BC Health Standards are upheld.
Job status: Full time (30-40 hours per week), permanent positions.

Wage: $19.00/hour to start, increasing to $20/hour after 3 months and $22/hour after one year of employment.
Vacation: 4% of gross earnings

Job requirements: Successful applicants must have at least two years of commercial cooking experience. Completion of a recognised training course in cooking or kitchen operations will be considered an asset.
