McCoo’s is hiring for the position of Retail Supervisor for their busy store located in the heart of Whistler village. This is a full-time, permanent position and the wage offered is $23 - $25/hour. Benefits are in accordance with the Employment Standards Act of B.C. The language of work is English.
Job duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the retail sales team;
- Schedule and assign duties to the team;
- Sell ski, snowboard and bike merchandise, clothing, accessories to customers
- Authorize payments and the return of merchandise;
- Resolve any issues that arise such as customer requests and complaints, supply shortages and product defects;
- Monitor and report on sales volumes, merchandising and employee performance;
- Organize and maintain inventory, place orders for products and sign for deliveries;
- Train new and existing retail staff in company policies, procedures and industry specific knowledge;
- Assist with the recruitment and hiring of new employees;
- Ensure visual standards and image of the store are maintained such as displays, signage, and cleanliness;
- Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the store when required, ensuring all proper procedures are followed;
- Oversee the in store warranty process;
- May assist with developing and implementing marketing strategies;
- May perform the same duties as workers supervised, when required.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school;
- At least one year of retail sales experience in the ski/snowboard and bike industry;
- Some previous supervisory experience in retail sales;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Existing relationships with industry experts, professional athletes, distributors and technical representatives is an advantage
