PAINTER (NOC 73112)
Sunvalley Painting & Decorating Corp was established in 1996 and since then, Sunvalley Painting has offered Commercial, Residential, Industrial, and institutional painting services throughout Kamloops & and surrounding areas such as Kelowna, Penticton, Merritt & Salmon Arm. We are seeking two full-time Painters to come and work with us.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Apply paint to various substrates.
• Examine and maintain exterior and interior painted surfaces, trimming, and fixtures.
• Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes.
• Remove previous paint using sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning.
• Inspect and carry out minor repairs to surfaces using the appropriate materials.
• Able to read blueprints, and drawings and follow written instructions.
• Order paint supplies and materials.
• Operate and maintain high-pressure, low-volume spray machines.
• Submit signed-off completed work orders to the supervisor.
• Assist other team members or assist on various other job sites.
• Operate and maintain various power and manual tools.
• Follow established protection procedures and Health and safety procedures on-site at all times.
• Clean up the job site after completion and return equipment and tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• No Degree, Certificate, or Diploma required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting.
• 3 years to less than 5 years of painting experience.
• On-the-job training as well.
JOB DETAILS:
Job Posting - for 2 Painters.
• Employer: Sunvalley Painting & Decorating Corp
• Location: Kamloops BC.
• Work Location: In person.
• Terms of Employment: Full-Time.
• Hours of work: 40 hours per week.
• Schedule: 8 hours shift. Specify days from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required. Flexibility to work overtime, if required.
• Wages: $25.50 per hour + 4% Vacation.
• Overtime: May be required from time paid at one and one-half the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.

• Be well-versed in the painting industry.
• Able to work by yourself or as part of a team.
• Reliable, dedicated, and flexible.
• Take pride in your work and have exceptional attention to detail.
• Physical dexterity targeted at handling some jobs that will require strength and agility to carry and move paint supplies, tools, and equipment, climb ladders, and use platform lifts.
• Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with on/off-site General Contractors, Clients, supervisors, team members, and office staff.
• Capable of handling some painting jobs with self-direction and self-management.
• Ability to work under pressure and within given timelines.
• Willing to travel if necessary.
