Position: Homestay Coordinator
Employment Type: 8 hours per week
Start Date - May 1, 2024
Salary Range: $25.68 per hour
Unity Christian School, located in the picturesque city of Chilliwack, British Columbia, is seeking a Homestay Coordinator starting on May 1st, 2024.
Reporting to the International Student Program Coordinator, the Homestay Coordinator is responsible for assessing and completing student Homestay placements and guiding and advising students and their host families as issues arise during their stay. The Homestay Coordinator responds to and resolves issues affecting the safety and wellbeing of the students, the families and the school, by providing advice, linking to community services and engaging health and social service professionals when needed.

● Conflict Resolution - engage parties to understand cultural conflicts that may not be apparent and allow individuals to participate in their resolution
● Independence - act with immediacy; establish priorities and communicate deadlines
Education:
● Course work in conflict resolution and administration
● Preference will be given to those with a degree in pre-social work or diploma in Community, Family and Child Studies or comparable education in human services.
Experience:
● One year or more of direct experience working with youth in a cross-cultural/ESL setting.
● One year or more full-time experience working in an office environment
● Work and administrative experience in a similar or related field

● a committed Christian
● dedicated to Christian education
