Salary Range: $49,894 - $64,868 per annum/hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning Services, the Instructional Technology Specialist shares responsibility for support and operation of systems and tools for online student engagement, including training and administration services for the learning management system with bi-campus remit. The specialist also works closely with instructional designers to identify useful emerging instructional technologies, to promote appropriate use of them, and to provide instructors with training.

  • Share administrator oversight and responsibility for the LMS working in partnership with other stakeholder to help maintain, manage, configure, and support the system. Work with third party vendors to integrate their products into the system.
  • Help develop policies and configure systems to meet the needs of UNB with bi-campus remit.
  • Design, develop, create and deliver clear and effective training materials, develop, design, and deliver workshops that support basic functionality, promote new tools/features, and encourage the use of advanced features.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of course implementations as related to technology integration.
  • Investigate student claims of work completed and generate reports for academic integrity investigations.
  • Provide system administration expertise and technical problem solving as required, and daily LMS troubleshooting.
  • Co-administer the UNB Poll Everywhere site license for UNB.
  • Design, develop and deliver workshops on licensed and unlicensed technologies.
  • Identify and create strategies and tools to help instructors engage students and assess student participation.
  • Promote the appropriate use of emerging technologies and mobile technologies and train instructors for effective implementation.
  • Research, test, and advise on the best use of Microsoft 365 tools to support instructor pedagogy.
  • Research, test, and advise on the best use of Microsoft 365 tools to support staff in their day-to-day work as well as special projects, encouraging the use of tools that create efficiencies.
  • Provide in-person support and training to instructors on in-person technologies as/when required.
  • Provide daily troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 for faculty and staff.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University Degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in course design, development, and support, preferably in a post-secondary environment.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience in creating and providing training workshops.
  • Experience with D2L Brightspace or other learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools
