Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Dusty. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals. Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Monitor the calving process. Perform livestock feeding. Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving. Treat livestock health issues. Weeding. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Milk cows. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs.
