The City of Saint John is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Welder to join our Outside Workers operational team in Fleet Management. This role maintains and repairs the vehicles and equipment, water and sewer materials, piping and structures for the City of Saint John. The successful applicant will be adaptable, proficient and skilled in the use and care of all types of welding apparatus.

Applicants must possess a valid Journeyman Welder License (F4 qualified), at least 3 years' experience at the journeyman level, a valid Class 5 Driver's License and the aptitude to learn and to adapt to new workplace technologies, and the ability to develop in the municipal public service is essential.

The successful applicant will be eligible to work a compressed work week of 4 days (Monday to Thursday) throughout the trial period of the City's recently adopted Compressed Work Week Trial. This schedule is subject to change.
