  Description :
As a 3D Environment Artist, your primary responsibility will be to create immersive game worlds by designing and constructing various environmental assets as well as their textures and shaders using a combination of 2D and 3D techniques. You will collaborate closely with the art and design teams to bring the game's vision to life, ensuring that the game world is visually stunning, cohesive, and engaging for players. This role requires a strong understanding of art fundamentals, the ability to understand culture references, excellent technical skills, and a passion for creating captivating virtual environments.

Responsibilities:
Game World Creation:
Conceptualize, design, and create visually striking game worlds, adhering to the artistic direction and technical requirements set by the project leads.
Creating high-quality models and texture maps for organic elements (e.g. plants) and hard surface elements (e.g. buildings), aligning with project requirements and the provided references.
Ensure the consistency and continuity of the game world, taking into account factors such as scale, lighting, texture, and mood.
Asset Creation:
Utilize various 2D and 3D tools to model, texture, and shade environmental assets, ensuring optimal performance without compromising visual quality.
Create and implement high-resolution and low-polygon 3D models, textures, materials, and shaders for game environments, paying attention to details such as asset optimization, maintaining consistency in UV mapping and polygonal subdivisions across assets, etc.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with the art, design, and engineering teams to understand and implement the game's visual and technical requirements and develop efficient workflows and pipelines for asset creation and integration into the game engine.
Showcasing work in a turntable-style environment with appropriate lighting during progress reviews and approval stages, including a scale reference to accurately represent the assets.
Participate in art reviews, provide constructive feedback, and iterate on assets to meet the project's quality standards.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, animators, and programmers, to ensure a seamless integration of environmental assets.
Industry and Artistic Trends:
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques related to 3D environment art, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance visual fidelity and overall player experience.
Research and gather reference materials, architectural styles, cultural influences, and other relevant sources to inform the creation of diverse and authentic game environments.

Required skills:
Strong understanding of art fundamentals: Possess a solid foundation in art principles such as composition, color theory, lighting, perspective, and anatomy.
Proficient in 2D and 3D software: Skilled in using industry-standard software such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop for modeling, texturing, and shading environmental assets.
Knowledge of game engines: Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, including their tools and workflows for asset integration, optimization, and real-time rendering. (Unity preferable)
Excellent 3D modeling and sculpting skills: Ability to create high-quality 3D models and sculptures of organic and hard surface elements, paying attention to detail, proportions, and topology.
Texturing and shader creation: Proficiency in creating textures and materials using both procedural and hand-painted techniques. Knowledge of shader creation to achieve realistic and stylized rendering effects.
Understanding of asset optimization: Ability to optimize 3D assets for performance without sacrificing visual quality, including techniques such as LODs and efficient polygonal modeling.
Strong knowledge of UV mapping: Skill in efficient UV unwrapping techniques to ensure consistent texel density, minimal texture distortion, and efficient use of texture space.
Passion for creating immersive environments: A genuine passion for creating visually stunning and captivating virtual environments that enhance the player's experience.

Bonus skills:
Familiarity with AI tools
