OB&O’s Restaurant located at 3059 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON K2B 7K4, is a highly esteemed African Caribbean Restaurant venue for menu à la carte and caters for special events such as wedding receptions, business meetings/conferences and corporate dinner parties. OB&O Restaurant is well known for its high standard of culinary excellence. We are urgently looking for a three highly experienced, creative and innovative experienced Chef with at least 3 years of experience in preparing and cooking traditional African and Caribbean Cuisine tandoor and familiarity with special herbs and spices.
Job Description:
As a full-time Chef you will be required to work morning, evening and weekend. The applicant should be team worker, punctual, proactive, outgoing and dependable and be required to perform the following tasks:
• Prepare and cook complete authentic African recipes and curry using special herbs and spices;
• Prepare and cook complete authentic recipes as per restaurant daily menu list.
• Prepare and mix ingredients with specific species to create the right balance of taste;
• Marinate the first hand products for final cooking/grilling;
• Create new recipes according to specific request of the clients;
• Oversee kitchen operations and ensure quality of the food;
• Adapt menu dishes to accommodate customers with food orders;
• Work with specialized cooking equipment, such as the deep fryer;
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene and health and safety rules in the kitchen;
