Job title: Chef (Tandoor and Curry)
The Curry Palace located at 569 Gladstone Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario K1R 5P2, is a highly esteemed venue for authentic Indian cuisine and well known for its high standard of culinary excellence. We are urgently looking for a highly experienced, creative and innovative experienced Tandoor Chef with at least 3 years of experience in preparing and cooking traditional Indian tandoor and curry. Knowledge and skills of using special Indian herbs and spices is required.
Job Description:
As a full-time Chef (Tandoor and Curry) you will be required to work morning, evening and weekend. The applicant should be team worker, punctual, proactive, outgoing and dependable and be required to perform the following tasks:
• Prepare and cook complete authentic Indian tandoor recipes and curry using special Indian herbs and spices;
• Work with specialized cooking equipment, such as the tandoor oven and deep fryer;
• Prepare and mix ingredients with specific species to create the right balance of taste;
• Create new recipes according to specific request of the clients;
• Oversee kitchen operations and ensure quality of the food;
• Adapt menu dishes to accommodate customers with food orders;
• Plan menus and order food and kitchen supplies along with the supervisor;
• Supervise the kitchen staff;
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.

Required experience:
- At least 3 years of experience as a chef in authentic Indian tandoor and curry along good familiarity with special Indian herbs and spices
Terms of employment and salary
- Full time – days, evening and weekends
- $23.00 per hour + free meals
- Hours of work per week: 40
- Criminal/Police Clearance Check required
- Language: English
- Start date of employment: As soon as possible
