POSITION TITLE: Electrical Automation Engineering Technologist
TERM: Permanent
REPORTING: Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: A junior role in the engineering department for KOR Rewinder machinery. The position requires formal knowledge of software, electrical systems, electronics and some practical knowledge of mechanics. The position requires working with industrial electronic systems (machinery) at the factory and occasionally commissioning and troubleshooting at factory site. The position also requires ability to work on technical matters remotely, to provide customers with training/guidance and to troubleshoot issues with rewinder machinery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Commissioning and testing completed machine projects at KOR factory
• Installing, troubleshooting and training operators on new rewinder machinery
• Installing and calibrating sensors and other electronic devices as needed
• Is fluent with electrical schematics of individual machinery prior to testing
• Producing electrical schematics as required with direction from Control S ystems Engineer
• Writing software modifications in B&R automation studio as required
• Supervising assembly and testing of electro mechanical assemblies
• Performing HMI programming in multiple languages
• Writing and editing instruction manuals in multiple languages
• Cooperating with technical team and sharing and communicating critical information
• Recommending improvements/modifications as required with written technical reports
• Documenting processes and maintaining appropriate technical records
• Providing service and customer support during field visits
• Working remotely with technical staff at domestic and international customer sites
OTHER DUTIES:
The role is generally limited to the above, however, from time to time other non-customary
duties may be required to be performed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Education – College Diploma in Automation, Electrical Program, Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent years of experience (minimum 2 years) in lieu of.
Other Requirements – Ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Physical dexterity using hands, working potential long-hours on the shop floor. Some travel is required.
Must be willing to travel within Canada and Internationally (no criminal record). Both forms of travel will be approximately 25% of the time.

WAGE:
$34 per hour on 40-hour work week. Company sponsored life insurance and health care spending account. Safety Shoe allowance.
