Job Description & Job Responsibilities:
As a Concrete Placer, you will be working as part of a team to place concrete for commercial customers. Job tasks include:
- Load and unload construction materials.
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms.
- Place, vibrate and screed concrete.
- Assist heavy equipment operators with tasks.
Work Settings:
As a Concrete Placer, work settings may vary depending on the job. These settings may include: high rise building construction sites and standard construction sites.
Work Site Environment:
As a Concrete Placer, it is important to note that jobs may be dusty, at heights, cold/refrigerated, dangerous, hot, noisy, outdoor and/or wet/damp.
Types of Materials:
Employees will be working with materials including: concrete.
Tools/Equipment:
All employees are required to have the following: CSA rubber boots, hard hat, safety vest and ear plugs.
Employee Transportation Requirements:
Employees will be required to commute frequently around the city and occasionally around the province for work. Due to this, all employees are required to have transportation to and from job sites.

Employees shall receive 1.5% more than the regular wage for any hours worked over 8 hours per day up to 44 regular hours worked per week.
Employees are entitled to min. 30 minutes per daybreak time - employees are entitled to at least 30 minutes of rest (break) during every 5-hour work period. If an employer and an employee agree, the break may be taken in 2 periods of at least 15 minutes (lunch, coffee breaks, etc…)
Employees are entitled to 2 day(s) off per week and this will vary depending on the job schedule unless overtime on the weekend is necessary. Up to five days of job-protected unpaid sick leave and three days of bereavement leave for the loss of a family member.
Employees are entitled to 9.6% combined Holiday and Vacation Pay computed on the Employee’s regular pay per year.
