Dr. Ma’s Laboratories Inc., a distinguished forerunner in the research and manufacturing of natural health products such as botanical extracts, dietary supplements, vitamins, and minerals, is headed by our principal scientist, Dr. Yuan-Chun Ma. Dr. Ma, along with his team, brings to the table 30 years of rich experience in Canada's pharmaceutical industry. Adhering rigorously to the cGMP and NNHPD regulations set by Health Canada, we uphold the highest standards in our work.
In line with our swift business growth, we are currently in pursuit of a Vice President of Operations to be part of our senior executive team. This is a key leadership position reporting to the Board of Directors, bearing responsibility of managing operations and maximizing team efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the company’s goals and objectives. The Vice President of Operations will work closely with the executive team to drive organizational growth, optimize operational processes, and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company’s mission and vision
• Identify opportunities for business growth, market expansion, and operational improvements
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices for all departments to optimize productivity and enhance overall performance
• Provide strong leadership to the management team and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Establish performance metrics, goals, and targets for each department. Regularly monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching as necessary. Implement performance improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
• Optimize resource allocation across departments to ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials. Identify areas of improvement, streamline processes, and implement cost-effective measures to maximize productivity and profitability
• Approve HR policies and plans; work with HR and leadership teams to identify and groom high-potential employees for future leadership roles within the organization.
• Foster collaboration and effective communication between departments to ensure smooth coordination and integration of operations. Encourage teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage budgets for various departments and projects. Monitor expenses, analyze financial data, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or operational efficiency
• Collaborate with department heads to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement robust risk management practices to safeguard company assets, intellectual property, and reputation.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, regulatory agencies, and industry partners
• Other related tasks.

Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 years of experience in a senior position with strong background in management and operational improvements
• Demonstrated ability of building a strong collaborative culture driving and exceeding projected results
• Proven record of attracting, coaching, developing and leading high-performance teams
• Strategic, persistent, proactive, collaborative, and goal oriented
• Ability to communicate complex ideas into concise actionable solutions
• Exhibit commitment and perseverance, with a proven ability to stay focused amidst multiple demands on time and attention
• Demonstrate a high sense of urgency with the ability to work independently and prioritize on an ongoing basis with a high volume of ever-changing deals
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends is required
