Job Description
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs and
curriculums to support and promote physical, cognitive,
emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching
songs, dramatic play or physical activities
• Observe children and assess individual and group needs
• Maintain an environment that protects the health, safety of
children
• Guide and assist children on proper eating, dressing and
toilet habits
• Assess children’s abilities and interest and discuss the
progress and problems with parents and other staff
• Maintain positive and friendly relationships with families
• Coordinate activities of other early childhood educators or
assistant
Requirements:
• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
• Early childhood educator certificate is required
• Experience in childcare is an asset
• Proficiency in English listening and communication
• Reliability, patient, and punctuality
• Attention to details
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral communication
• Valid and clear criminal background check
Certification in these areas is an asset:
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate
• Food Safe Certification
• Emergency childcare first aid and CPR
