Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and develop our HR practices and objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our hotel continues to provide an exceptional guest experience by fostering a supportive and productive work environment for our staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with our business goals.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Ensure the effective recruitment process from job posting, interviewing, to induction.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs. Develop and oversee wellness and benefit packages, maintaining competitive offerings.
- Manage staff training programs, and oversee the development of a hotel-wide leadership initiative to foster the growth of future leaders.
- Ensure compliance with BC employment legislation and regulations, keeping all HR documents up to date.
- Monitor and report on workplace health and safety compliance.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance. Ensure the clear communication and understanding of performance expectations.
- Conduct regular surveys to gather employee feedback and identify areas of improvement.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations when necessary.
- Collaborate with the management team to maintain a sound organizational structure and succession plans.
- Ensure clear understanding of HR policies and procedures among all employees.
- Organize and oversee annual HR events such as employee appreciation day and health fairs.
- Manage budget allocations for HR functions including training, wellness programs, and staff events.
- Stay updated on HR industry trends and best practices, implementing new strategies to maintain competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Proven working experience as an HR Manager or similar role.
- Ability to develop strategy as well as hands-on execution.
- Proficient in HRIS and MS Office.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional HR certification would be an asset.
Wages: $57.69/hour (35hours/week)
Permanent Full-time position
