Come join our amazing and passionate team as an Accounting Bookkeeper at our office in Delta, BC. We are seeking an accounting bookkeeper to oversee the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. To perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Issue and follow up on invoices to customers, ensuring timely payments.
• Process customer payments and actively track overdue accounts for prompt resolution.
• Manage supplier and vendor payments, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements.
• Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly bank statements to ensure consistency between records and actual bank balances.
• Monitor and record inventory movements and associated costs for accurate financial tracking.
• Reconcile inventory data to maintain precision in financial records.
• Prepare detailed reports on stock levels and monitor shipments in and out of the warehouse.
• Calculate wages, salaries, bonuses, and other compensations for warehouse and office employees.
• Deduct applicable taxes and benefits while preparing comprehensive payroll reports.
• Assist in timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
• Record accounts payable and receivable transactions into accounting software or ledgers accurately.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets with precision and efficiency to support financial activities.
• Assist in preparing semi-monthly payroll for the company and its employees.
• Collaborate with departments such as purchasing, warehouse management, and sales to ensure accurate financial data flow.
• Support budgeting activities by analyzing past expenses, projected revenue, and inventory cost trends.
• Contribute to financial forecasting efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities and support business growth.
• Prepare regular financial reports for management to evaluate warehouse performance and profitability.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial reports for tax compliance and planning.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Education and Experience:
• Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field is required
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
• Bookkeeping experience is an asset
• 2-3 years of working experience would be preferred, but not mandatory
