Responsibilities
Tasks
Splice, join, and connect wires by pulling wires through conduits, walls, and floors, then securely connecting them to fixtures and components to form complete electrical circuits.
Troubleshoot and isolate faults by inspecting electrical and electronic systems, using test equipment to check circuit continuity, identifying faulty components, and performing necessary repairs or replacements.
Connect power to audio and visual equipment by installing and integrating electrical connections for communication systems, signaling devices, and heating and cooling systems while ensuring proper power distribution.
Conduct preventive maintenance programs by regularly inspecting electrical systems, replacing faulty components, repairing lighting fixtures, switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, and maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities.
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.
