Description

The City of Moose Jaw is looking to fill the position of Storekeeper which performs various storekeeping duties related to inventory and purchasing thereof and includes the stock maintenance and distribution of materials and supplies for use by all City Departments, including the maintenance of appropriate accounting records.

Some of the duties include:
- Perform all manual and computerized administration functions of the position as required.
- Accept or supervise requisitions for material and issue or supervise the issuance of material.
- Prepare and submit a variety of monthly stock, inventory, distribution and accounts receivable reports.
- Assist in preparing inventory and annual budget for submission to departments and provide input into the annual budget process for the stores and procurement area.
- Manage, prepare and participate in physical inventory counts and with assistance of the Accounting Clerk, prepare post inventory account reports.
- Assist departments with tendering process. Act as a purchasing agent for the City of Moose Jaw for all stores stock items.
- Maintain stores records and files.
- Order inventory as stock is depleted and prepare invoices for payment.
- Ensure proper controls are in place to protect stock items within the Stores Section.

Qualified applicants will possess:
- Accounting Diploma or equivalent.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management Post-Graduate Certificate or Minimum of 2 years experience with purchasing and inventory.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Knowledge of computer software such as word processing and databases.
- Ability to acquire WHIMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Forklift certifications.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and move 100 pounds with a trolley.
- Ability to coach, lead, organize and direct activities of employees
