Description

The Ministry of Parks Culture and Sport has an exciting opportunity for a creative, strategic, and motivated communications professional who can use their superior writing and event management skills to help promote ministry programs and services.

The Communications Branch is seeking a creative and highly organized Communications Consultant with strong writing and social media skills for a permanent full-time position. They will:

- Create a range of communications products including news releases, speeches, key messages, web content, blog posts, and social media content, speaking notes, eNewsletters, presentations, and other written content.
- Create content for the ministrys social media channels and deliver photo and video content that will promote ministry activities and tell the ministrys story; and more!

The successful candidate will be organized, flexible, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects within a busy work environment and will have:

- A keen eye for detail;
- Knowledge of strategic communications and marketing theories and principles, techniques, methods, and tools;
- Experience creating clear written, verbal, and visual communication materials that inform, educate, and promote understanding;
- The ability to plan and execute events and help inform and educate the public on ministry programs and services;
- Experience managing a social media account and developing strategies to increase engagement.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies required for this position would be attained through a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field of study, combined with relevant work experience, or several years of experience working in the communications field.

A valid Saskatchewans drivers license is required.
