Manager Network & Telecom Services

Our client is a Canadian multinational, multi-billion food processor, based in the maritimes. They are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Manager to lead their Network Services team and provide technology direction and oversight of all global telecommunication and data services. The manager will report to the Director of Technology. Responsibilities The Network Services Manager is responsible for vendor management (owning and managing relationships with telecom/data providers globally, issue escalations and resolution), account management (liaising with regional IS contacts and working with business stakeholders), administration (reporting and reviewing telecom and data expenses globally), support (issue response and escalation) and planning (oversight on existing projects). Provides technology direction and oversight of all telecommunication and data services for Canadian based international food processor. Manages a globally dispersed team that is responsible for telephone and data network support and project work. Responsible for issue escalation and resolution within this vertical. Responsible for the relationship with Communication vendors/carriers. This position is responsible for the continued availability of phone systems and the global data network. Ensuring timely support and coverage of the systems has a direct impact on whether the end user can conduct normal business actvities. Ensuring a stable local area network is deployed at the plants can directly impact plant productivity. Innovation is constantly required in this position. Communication technologies provide the underpinnings for collaboration for us. Identifying new technologies and acting as an advocate for them, and his group as they deploy them, is a key enabler to end user productivity. As the "thin edge of the wedge" communication services must always be the first group from I.S. involved with many projects (For example: an new company acquisition). Communications services such as phones and data circuits are the key enabler for delivering all other standard services. Innovation to identify and creatively deploy services for projects or to respond to support emergencies is the responsibility of this position and the team. This position has constant contact with vendors, peers, direct employees, end-users as well as contractors/partners. In some cases like vendors, contractors and partners it may be the prime or sole person managing the relationship with that outside entity. The position may also be part of a team interacting with the outside entity depending on the status and nature of the relationship. There is also direct user contact required to explain issues when they are escalated for resolution. This position has oversight into a large amount of operational spending (telephone and data) for the globe.
