JOB DESCRIPTION McInnis Cement is actively looing for a dynamic and proactive Automation and Instrumentation Engineer to join the Operation and Project team. The candidate will be required to assist in the development of new facilities in North America in addition to supporting all existing facility of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES 1- Operation Support: Working with the different terminal managers, the A&I engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting daily operational issues to optimize equipment performance and maximize equipment availability. Daily Activities: -Develop automation and instrumentation standards throughout the terminals network; -Manage programing support "hotline"; -Manage the Autoload program and interface with our service provider (Process Solutions Limited); -Keep up to date the site Automation and Instrumentation drawings, schematics and plans; -Travel to various sites to participate in optimization projects to improve reliability and general operation of the terminal; -Troubleshoot ongoing operation efforts and develop strategies to resolve them; -Responsible for improvement of Rockwell PLC programming and Rockwell HMI configuration throughout the network; -Establish and manage priorities linked to ongoing projects; 2- Capital projects: Participate in the development of the facilities under the Project Director by developing: capital cost estimate, selection of equipments, reviewing engineering drawings and providing guidance for the engineering firms through the development, permitting, construction, pre-operational verification, commissioning and operation activities. The A&I Engineer will also spearhead operation/optimisation related projects on existing facilities. Daily Activities: -Guide engineering firms and local consultants on the design of new facilities and yearly capital projects; -Build business cases for various projects linked to electrical and automation field; -Lead the equipment selection process by drafting the specifications, analyzing tenders and finalize the procurement of the equipment with the procurement agent; -Drafting of drawings and sketches; -Participate in drafting the construction contracts for the facilities; -Participate in the elaboration of the project budget; -Assist and direct construction activities based on the operational requirements.

Requirements and working conditions

Educational level : University - Graduate (Master's)
Years of experience related to the job offer :3 to 5 years experience
Description of qualifications : -Bachelor's in engineering (or relevant experience); -Proficient in AutoCAD; -Proficient in Microsoft Projects and Office; -Minimum' 5-year experience in developing/building and supporting similar facilities; -Fully French and English bilingual (both written and spoken); -Excellent communications and conflict resolution skills; -Knowledge of material handling, especially cement handling is a plus; -Works well with others in a team environment; -Organised and structured; -Is willing to travel for work; -Valid drivers licence;
