Job Title: Industrial Millwright
Job Type: Direct Hire
Location: Markham (14th & Warden).
Shift/Hours: Days 7:00am – 3:30pm Afternoon Shift; 3:00pm – 11:30pm Monday to Friday.
Pay Rate: $30.00/hr
The Industrial Mechanic Millwright Carries out Maintenance Activities within various areas of Stamping & Assembly. Supports Production Supervision, Tooling and Quality Departments on any maintenance issue related with the product or processes to fulfill the various objectives of the organization.
Trouble shooting mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic failures on heavy stamping equipment and MIG welding equipment
Modifying production equipment to suit production requirements.
Relocating equipment and providing services such as compressed air and ventilation to new location
Repairing facility equipment such as ventilation units, sprinkler systems, compressors, and plumbing fixtures as required.
Occasionally servicing lift trucks and personnel lifting devices as needed
Attending weekly departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
Available for occasional off shift coverage and regular weekend overtime to carry out P/Ms
Report through a work order system daily all work performed on equipment including any follow up work required.
Carry a pager at all times while in the plant
Report to your supervisor prior to the beginning of your shift any planned absence
Complete all other reasonable tasks put to you by management.
Must hold an Industrial Millwrights licence
Should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in metal stamping industry.
Must have a solid understanding of the workings of stamping process
Must demonstrate a good understanding of the English language and following detailed instructions
Must demonstrate a solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and blue print reading
Must be able to measure and work within a .001” tolerance
Must be familiar with Industrial machinery safety standards
Must know and practice emergency lockout on all equipment
Must have a solid understanding of friction clutch/ brake systems
Must know intimately the function of press valves
Should be familiar with emergency entrapment procedure
Should have a good understanding of die protection principles.
Should be familiar with die lubrication systems
This job is required to work in the Plant various areas for 100 % of the time.
Standing at machinery and shop floor for approx. 7 hours per day.
Sitting for approximately 1 hour per day.
No unusual demands.
Despite due care the job is exposed to increased risk of accidents. Special attention to be given to WHMIS. Safety equipment required to be worn outside the office area. (safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs) Stamping Production Area / Assembly Production Area / Warehouse Area/ Offices
Use of both hands and eyes – hand / eye coordination.
