V.K. Engineering & Consulting Ltd. is seeking full time draftsman to support their projects in British Columbia. The primary responsibilities for this role will include:
• Preparation & detailing of engineering designs and drawing from preliminary concepts, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
• Preparation of customer interface drawings and technical specifications for custom products
• Prepare and estimate costs, material and construction specification.
• Assists and develop drawing & design.
• Maintains and prepare accurate product documentation and work instructions and provides technical support in the purchasing, production planning.
• Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams or layouts from sketches
• Write technical reports
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Operate computer-assisted drafting equipment or a conventional drafting station.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Previous work experience of 2-3 years is required or Completion of a 3-4 years apprenticeship program or Completion of a 3-4 years college program in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field is required
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Proficiency in basic computer use (Word, Excel) and communication tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with 3-D modeling applications and techniques as well as proficiency with office productivity software can be asset.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.
• Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.
Benefits: As per collective agreement and BC Employment Standards act, 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation or the option to chose 10 days paid vacation annually with no vacation pay on each pay period.
