 Description  : Nicli Antica Pizzeria located at 62 East Cordova Street Vancouver, BC, V6A 1K2 is currently hiring a Fine Dining Front of House Supervisor (NOC 6311) to work full-time as soon as possible. The offered salary is $17.00 per hour working 40 hours a week. Extended health (medical & dental) benefits are available after a 3-month probationary period. One free staff meal is also provided during any shift worked as well as tip-sharing (Gratuities) . As a key member of our team, our Floor Supervisor must ensure the restaurant operates smoothly. This position must thrive in maintaining professional yet friendly customer rapports, as well as effectively make use of downtime. Overall cleanliness, sufficient weekly stock, inventory, leadership and customer service are the key responsibilities of this role. This position is required to have strong communication with the General Manager. The Floor Supervisor pays close attention to all operational details to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the financial success of the establishment.

Job Duties:
• Training staff on cocktails and food prior to new menu rollouts, ensuring all staff know the correct way to pour wine, spirits, and beer to ensure quality and inventory control. Training of all front of house support staff as well as ensuring food detail and wine knowledge is up to standards.
• Take control of restaurant flow. Ensure guest satisfaction and safety throughout shift. Develop strong communication and line reporting procedures to guide service implementation making improvements or changes where required
• Implement safe working practices to ensure safety of building occupiers and visitors
• Problem Solving
o Handle disgruntled customers by offering suggestions and solutions
o Handle employee issues such as tardiness, cell phones, language, attitude, dress code
o Facilitate FOH and BOH issues
o Control seating at peak times
• Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
• Ordering: Ordering food and beverage when necessary for front of house.
• Emails to be answered on a daily basis except for your allocated days off.
• Inventory solutions: Tidy and organize the all front of house areas, create clean signage for staff and maintaining the area.
• Restaurant/Bar cleaning schedule: Delegate and follow through with a cleaning schedule for all bar areas. Consistently passing randomized inspection of the area without exception. Ex. regular cleaning of bar mats, checking chemicals, broken glass safely removed weekly etc.
• Supervise employees by building strong teamwork and maintaining an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs.
• Always be available for miscellaneous tasks, as a Supervisor it is your duty to ensure everything that needs to get done is done including short notice coverage of shifts.

• High School completion
• Must have at least 1-2 years of floor supervisory experience in a Fine Dining environment
• Must have extensive wine knowledge and experience recommending food and wine pairing choices to Guests
• Must be available to work various shifts including days, nights and weekends
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English including verbal and written communication
• Must be customer service oriented and an effective problem solver
• Must work well in a team environment
